Summary of General Meeting, held Monday 26 February, 2024 Progress Hall

Annual general meeting: Was postponed due to the audited books not being available. The AGM will be rescheduled once the audited books are available. There was a detailed discussion and concern about the fact that Audited Financial Statements have not been presented for Years 2020, 2021, 2022 and now 2023, and that this may put us in breach of Department of Fair Trading Rules.

Guest Speaker Mr Gary Chestnut: Community Environment Network (CEN) chairperson gave an overview of the CEN campaign for “a Better Plan for the Central Coast”. https://www.cen.org.au/resources/latestnews/new-campaign-the-central-coast-deserves-a-better-plan

Book sale this Easter Saturday 30 March: raising money for Coastal Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP ) who are a group of local volunteers (from Macs and surrounding suburbs) who have come together to commit to a local settlement plan for a refugee selected by the Department of Home Affairs and the UNHCR for our group. The money raised will help finance their settlement for the first 12 months.

Gerda Road overgrown hedge: Resolved to campaign to council to reinstate the access to Banavie Reserve and replace the overgrown hedge on the northern edge of the park which should include a retaining wall to the edge of the road.

Dune Tracks: being created over the sand dunes from Tudibaring houses to the beach. Resolved to send letter to CCC to un block the existing access tracks from the boundaries of the houses, so the occupants can use the official walking tracks and not create new tracks over the dunes and cc the Macs Bushcare of our letter.

Revetment Wall: Waiting on final design from Council.

Council Elections: We eagerly await for a return to democracy with the Council elections to be held in September.

Excess sand in the rock pool: Letter to be sent to Council to remove excess sand before Easter and April school holidays.

Dogs on Beach: The ongoing problem of dogs off leash where they are not allowed. Dog owners should stick to the rules. If they cannot be controlled off leash they should remain on leash.

Coast Catchment Management Plan: President attended an invitation from Central Coast Council to Community Stakeholder Engagement on our Open Coast Catchment Management Plan 7 February at Copa surf club.

MacMaster Parade to Marine Parade access steps: The edge painting has been done to a ‘not satisfactory standard’. Unsure if Council completed the job or persons unknown painted the edge with incorrect paint.

Complaint to NSW Office of Environment and Heritage re illegal tree felling: 700 The Scenic Rd, We hope to hear that prosecution will be forthcoming.
